What exactly does GreenGuard treat?

We target broadleaf weeds (dandelion, clover, plantain, thistle, chickweed), grassy weeds (crabgrass, quackgrass), and perimeter invaders (knotweed, bindweed, spurge). Each treatment is tailored to what is actively growing on your property at the time of service.

Do I need to be home during treatment?

No. We leave a completed service card at the door noting what was applied, where, and when it is safe for pets and children to return to treated areas. Most residential visits complete in 20 to 45 minutes.

Is GreenGuard licensed?

Yes. We hold a BC Provincial Pesticide Applicator licence, carry $5M commercial liability insurance, and maintain WorkSafeBC coverage for all technicians. Licence numbers are available on request.

What products do you use?

We use Health Canada registered herbicides applied at label-specified rates. Selective broadleaf formulations protect your turf while eliminating weeds. We document every product used on your service card and can provide full SDS sheets on request.

How many visits does it take to see results?

Most broadleaf weeds show visible dieback within 7 to 14 days of the first application. Persistent species like thistle and knotweed may require two visits. Pre-emergent programs prevent germination, so the result is the absence of weeds rather than visible browning.

Can you treat near vegetable gardens or fruit trees?

We buffer a minimum 1.5 m exclusion zone around edible plants and use physical barriers where needed. Inform your technician of any food-producing areas before the first visit and we will map the exclusions on file.

Most products need 4 to 6 hours of dry contact time to absorb. If rain falls within that window within 48 hours of treatment, contact us and we will reschedule a re-application at no charge under the 30-day guarantee.

Why do you publish your prices publicly?

Because 'call for a quote' is a barrier we refuse to put between you and basic information. Our rate sheet reflects real costs for a 5,000 sq ft standard residential lot. Large lots, commercial properties, and hardscape work are quoted separately.

What is included in the annual price?

All scheduled visits for the plan year, product, equipment, technician time, and the 30-day re-treatment guarantee on every visit. There are no fuel surcharges, seasonal add-ons, or renewal penalties.

Do you offer single visits?

Yes, though our per-visit rate for single appointments is higher than the annual plan rate because we can't spread equipment and travel costs across multiple visits. The Sentinel plan at four visits per year is the most economical entry point.

When is it safe for kids and pets after treatment?

Treated areas are safe once the application has dried, typically 1 to 2 hours for liquid treatments. Your service card will note the specific product applied and its re-entry interval. We err on the side of caution and will extend that window if conditions warrant.

Are the products safe near storm drains and waterways?

We observe all provincial buffer zone requirements for water features. Treatments are not applied within the required setback distance of any drainage ditch, pond, or watercourse. Products are selected for low aquatic toxicity where proximity is unavoidable.

How far in advance do I need to book?

Spring pre-emergent windows fill 3 to 4 weeks out. Standard seasonal visits typically have 1 to 2 week availability. Emergency single visits for invasive species can sometimes be accommodated same-week.

What happens if I need to reschedule?

Call or text 48 hours before your visit and we will move it with no fee. Same-day cancellations may result in a $25 trip charge if a technician is already en route.
